Location: Saugerties NY
Payrate: $25.00 - $30.00
Schedule: Monday Thursday 6:00am 4:30pm, OT available

Job Summary:
Operates various pieces of machine shop equipment used in the manufacture of gapped and custom magnetic products using setups and instructions provided by other personnel. May perform setups and adjustments on specific machines.
Job Duties:
- Operates various surface grinding equipment to machine magnetic materials.
- Operates surface grinders used for E-core and toroid gapping with minimal supervision or direction.
- Setup and operate Robo-gapping equipment.
- Inspects finished product to ensure specifications for a particular operation are met.
- Reads and understands manufacturing instructions (MIs) with direction from other personnel.
- Ability to lap or polish product to a required surface finish.
- Notify group leader and/or operations manager of problems with equipment and/or product.
- Follow all safety, quality and departmental procedures.
- May install grinding wheel on spindle and indicate wheel run out.
- May be required to operate CNC computer console on occasion.
- Perform various assembly operations using epoxies and/or glues and associated clamping devices.
- May assist with various preventative maintenance duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned in order to meet organizational and customer objectives and business conditions.
Qualifications:
Skills & Abilities:
- General understanding of mechanical equipment.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to use small hand tools.
- Ability to use measuring devices such as micrometer and calipers.
- Good working knowledge of basic math.
- Ability to use various optical inspection and measuring devices.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- A minimum of one (1) year machining experience, preferably with machining magnetic or other ceramic materials.
- Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.
