BlueWave is hiring a Machinist/Fabricator Day Shift for a manufacturing client based in Central Texas. As a Machinist/Fabricator, you will manufacture components and support the fabrication, assembly, and integration of custom production equipment. You will work with engineering and production teams to deliver precise, high-quality mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate components using manual mills, lathes, press brakes, CNC machinery, and other shop equipment
- Assemble production equipment, fixtures, tooling, and test systems
- Build and integrate mechanical and electromechanical assemblies
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions
- Inspect completed work using precision measurement tools
- Troubleshoot fabrication and assembly challenges
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication area
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in fabrication, welding, machining, mechanical assembly, or a related manufacturing environment
- Hands-on manual machining experience, including milling and turning
- Ability to select and use appropriate cutting tools and inspection equipment
- Experience operating common fabrication equipment, power tools, and hand tools
- Ability to work a day-shift schedule consisting of five to six 10-hour shifts
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and engineering prints preferred
- Sheet-metal bending or mechanical systems troubleshooting experience preferred
- CNC or conversational programming experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and communication skills
