Machinist (2nd Shift)

From early R&D, through complex regulatory approvals and into production, our global laboratory network of scientists, engineers, and technologists support customers to achieve assurance over product quality, sustainable outcomes, and market access. You will operate CNC and conventional machining equipment and work closely with laboratory technicians, engineers, and metallurgists to produce specimens that meet exact dimensional, geometric, and surface-finish requirements.

Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Machinist to join our Materials Testing team. In this role, you will manufacture precision test specimens and components from a wide variety of metallic and engineering materials.

 

You will operate CNC and conventional machining equipment and work closely with laboratory technicians, engineers, and metallurgists to produce specimens that meet exact dimensional, geometric, and surface-finish requirements.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for a machinist who enjoys precision work, problem solving, and working with advanced materials and wants to apply their skills in a laboratory environment supporting some of the world's most demanding industries.

 

Salary: $25- $30/hr + $1 shift differential DOE 

Hours: Monday - Friday: 2:00pm-10:00pm

 

Responsibilities:

What You’ll Do:

• • Operate machining equipment and prep specimens for aerospace testing
  • Maintain machinery and perform preventative upkeep
  • Record dimensions and ensure quality standards
  • Collaborate with Machinists and Managers to keep operations running smoothly

Skills / Qualifications:

• HS diploma/GED (college or vocational coursework a plus)
• 2+ years in a machine shop or machining experience
• Strong safety mindset and basic math/computer skills

Physical Demands:

• Frequency of required physical force: Moderate

• Lifting requirements: lifting <50 lbs. often and > 50 lbs. on occasion

• Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time

• Ability to lift 50+lbs periodically
