    Machinist - 2nd Shift

    Noise, Vibration, and Harshness Division

    Parker Lord's Dayton facility manufactures passive vibration mounts for commercial and military aerospace applications.     Position Summary

    Machine aerospace components to required quality standards at expected production levels by following all required processes and instructions.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Perform machine set-ups, tool changes and machine offsets
    • Collaborates with Programming, Quality and technical support to develop new processes and products
    • Suggest and participate in the implementation of process improvements, setup reduction initiatives and scrap reduction activities
    • Performs all required preventative maintenance activities
    • Completes all quality related inspection requirements
    • Complete necessary paperwork and documentation to ensure quality conformance and the proper movement and control of product
    • Assist in the development and maintenance of work instructions and process sheets ensuring paperwork is organized, detailed and current
    • Actively participates in LEAN projects and activities
    • Adheres to all safety guidelines and procedures
    • Other assignments as required

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with limited information
    • Able to communicate effectively with management, and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork
    • Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed
    • Must be dependable and available to work overtime when required
    • Understands and demonstrates comprehension of drawings, blueprints and Manufacturing Work Instructions
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Outlook
    • Self-motivated and ability to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision
    • Willingness to work 2nd shift
    • Ability to carry/ lift up to 35 lbs. (50% of the time). Must have the ability to stand, kneel, squat, stoop, use fingers and hands to feel, lift or handle tools, parts and equipment.

    Experience & Education

    • Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience or equivalent combination of education or experience

    • Preferred 5 years Machining experience

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent

    • Formal training and/or education in Machining
