    Description

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to all engineering instructions, standard operating procedures, and departmental procedures.
    • Perform machine set-ups on manual lathes, CNC lathes, CNC mills, and Waterjet machines for all programs and part types, including production and/or engineering parts with light assistance.
    • Perform typical machine shop operations to support the assembly floor.
    • Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
    • Perform preventative maintenance on machines as required per P.M. charts.
    • Conduct visual inspections of machines for damage or wear.
    • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings for all processes and programs.
    • Train incoming Operators and Set-Up Technicians.
    • Verify gage calibration.
    • Perform machine fixturing for all set-ups.
    • Identify and properly use all tooling, including understanding names and functions.
    • Assist other departments as necessary with management approval.
    • Perform all other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with CNC machining.
    • Skills:
    • Proficiency in standard measuring tools, including but not limited to:
    • Micrometers (O.D. & I.D.)
    • Calipers
    • Bore Gages
    • Protractors
    • Height Gages and Micro-Height Gages
    • Molds
    • Optical Comparator
    • Depth Gages
    • Familiarity with CNC programming/languages and the ability to create and edit programs.
    • Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
    • Strong mathematical skills.
    • Knowledge of machine safety practices.
    • Understanding of machine lubrication per operation manual specifications.

    Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

    • The employee is frequently required to stand for an extended period of time.
    • Walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
    • Required to work in a shop environment which may include hot or cold temperatures, humidity, high noise levels and hazardous fluids such as coolants and lubricants.
    • Willing and able to machine and handle a wide variety of materials, including but not limited to, Fiberglass Composites, Plastics, Metals and other Alloys.
