Job Summary

Prolim is seeking a skilled Machinist 2 to support manufacturing and production operations in Goleta, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong experience operating manual and CNC machinery, performing machine set-ups, interpreting technical drawings, and maintaining tight machining tolerances in a precision manufacturing environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with strong CNC machining and fabrication experience who thrive in a fast-paced aerospace or advanced manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools including lathes, mills, grinders, and related equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, engineering specifications, and work instructions
• Perform non-routine machine set-ups and precision machining operations
• Fabricate complex component parts while maintaining difficult tolerances and dimensions
• Utilize precision measuring tools and advanced shop math calculations
• Monitor machining processes and inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy
• Perform tooling adjustments and optimize feeds and speeds as needed
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
• Support continuous improvement and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Follow all safety procedures and production requirements

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of machining experience
• Experience operating manual machines and performing machine set-ups
• Ability to read and interpret production specifications, technical drawings, and blueprints
• Experience with complex measurements, tolerances, tooling, feeds, and speeds
• Familiarity with CNC mills and machine programming software such as Mastercam or CAM Works
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to read work instructions and use basic hand and power tools
• Ability to stand for extended periods during shifts
• Ability to lift, push, or pull 35-50 lbs throughout the workday
• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience operating 3-Axis CNC machines
• Experience with 4-Axis and 5-Axis CNC machining
• Experience with Fanuc and HAAS controllers
• CAM programming experience using Mastercam
• Aerospace or precision manufacturing experience preferred
