    Schedule: 1st Shift - 9/80 work schedule

    Job Overview:

    We are is seeking a skilled Machinist Level 2 to join our Machine Shop team in Goleta. In this role, you will set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to manufacture precision metal parts, tools, and mechanical components.

    This position requires strong experience with machine setup, blueprint interpretation, precision measurement, and machining operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Set up and operate manual lathes, manual mills, CNC mills, and precision grinders

    Machine metal parts, mechanisms, and tools to exact tolerances and specifications

    Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering drawings

    Determine machining sequence, number of cuts, and proper setup methods

    Perform in-process and final quality inspections using precision measuring instruments

    Perform shop calculations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds

    Measure, mark, and layout stock materials for machining operations

    Maintain machinery and ensure tooling and materials readiness

    Maintain a clean and safe work environment

    Train team members on machine setup, operations, and maintenance

    Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams

    Basic Qualifications

    3+ years of machining experience

    Experience operating manual and CNC machines

    Experience performing machine setups

    Familiarity with CNC mills and machining software (e.g., Mastercam, CAMWorks)

    Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications

    Experience performing complex measurements and shop math calculations

    Ability to follow written setup instructions and perform non-routine setups

    Strong attention to detail and accuracy

    Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 35-50 lbs

    U.S. Citizenship required

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience with Fanuc or HAAS machine controllers

    4+ years of CNC machining experience

    Experience operating 3-Axis CNC machines (4-Axis and 5-Axis a plus)

    Proficiency with CAM programming (Mastercam preferred)

    Work Environment

    Fast-paced machine shop environment

    Collaborative work with machinists, engineers, and quality teams

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Strong focus on quality, safety, and precision
