Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.
Machine Tool & Quality: Surface Table Inspection- Evening Adjunct
Adjunct faculty members are responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom, laboratory, and online environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.
Employees must be able to work strategically with diverse colleagues, students, and community members with a commitment to diversity as a learning outcome to be culturally respectful, professionally competent, and civically responsible.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience with surface table and dimensional inspection.
Accomplished in blueprint reading and application in relation to dimensional inspection forms.
Sound use of different measuring equipment including but not limited to micrometers, indicators, height sets, square masters, optical comparator, profilometer and calibration standards.
Proficient in component setup and surveying.
Skilled in component optimization related to half-dimensions, centerlines, and tolerances that are being evaluated to acceptance against drawing requirements.
Strong math and communication skills.
Understanding and application of GD&T.
Must be willing to teach evenings
