With direct guidance in a team environment, responsible for operating one or more production machines working from blueprints, sketches and route sheets.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform repetitive machine operations (including reworking parts) such as cutting, shaping, deburring, forming, drilling, reaming and smoothing parts
  • Align and fasten parts using standard fixtures where established methods are followed
  • Visually inspect parts for burrs and damaged machine surface
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks cracks or other irregularities from machined parts
  • Inspect parts for conformance to specifications by visual examination and the use of gauges or other measuring instruments
  • Accurately and regularly perform Statistical Process Control (SPC) requirements
  • Observe all prescribed safety rules and regulations while maintaining a clean work area in orderly condition
  • Read analog / digital MICS / COMPAIRTORS / PROFILOMETER
  • Strong lathe background preferred
  • Perform other related responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have manual machining experience
  • Minimum 1-2 years general or related machine shop experience or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities
  • Must demonstrate manual dexterity
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints
  • Working knowledge of machine shop mathematics
  • Must demonstrate effective English verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player
