    Machine Shop Manager

    Direct Hire | Maple Lake, MN | $100k –$120k

    We are looking for a hands-on Machine Shop Manager to lead a CNC machining operation while remaining involved in programming, setup, tooling, troubleshooting, and production.

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist/programmer who enjoys leading a team but still wants to be involved on the shop floor.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and supervise day-to-day machine shop operations and production schedules
    • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines for jobs of varying complexity
    • Develop and modify CNC programs using Mastercam or similar CAM software
    • Review 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
    • Select appropriate tooling, work holding, and machining processes
    • Troubleshoot machining, equipment, and process issues
    • Monitor production, quality, and delivery objectives
    • Train, mentor, and develop machinists and shop employees
    • Coordinate projects, schedules, and work priorities
    • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, processes, and efficiency
    • Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments
    • Maintain a strong focus on safety and shop standards
    • Operate multiple machines or support production as needed

    Qualifications:

    • 4+ years of manufacturing experience
    • 3+ years of CNC machine setup and operation
    • CNC programming experience using Mastercam or similar CAM software
    • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models
    • Experience selecting tooling and setting up CNC equipment
    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
    • Experience using precision measuring equipment such as calipers and other inspection tools
    • Good computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software and systems
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment
