We are looking for a dependable Machinist Helper to support our machining team in a fast-paced shop environment. This position assists with material handling, shaft assembly, and general shop operations while maintaining a safe and organized work area.
Responsibilities
- Assist machinists with daily shop operations and production tasks.
- Measure materials and parts accurately using a tape measure.
- Operate overhead cranes to safely move materials and finished products.
- Assemble shafts and mechanical components according to specifications.
- Load, unload, and organize materials throughout the shop.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Experience operating an overhead crane or willingness to become certified.
- Mechanical aptitude or experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment preferred.
- Experience assembling shafts or similar mechanical components is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and dependable attendance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods.
Pay: $17-$21/hour
