Since 1997, CNC Manufacturing has been a steadfast cornerstone of American manufacturing. We are currently searching for an energetic and hardworking Machine Shop Assistant.


Job Summary

The machine shop assistant is responsible for receiving, issuing and maintaining inventory control of raw material, sub-contractor parts, and CNC tooling and supplies. They will also schedule sawcut operations for CNC raw material. They will help on the shop floor as needed.


Requirements

High School Diploma or GED


Responsibilities

  • Receive deliveries of raw material and subcontractor parts and material
  • Issue raw stock to appropriate CNC Machines for job processing
  • Maintain inventory control of raw material, subcontractor parts, and tooling
  • Schedule Sawcut operations
  • Competently drive fork-lift
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • Adhere to quality policies and procedures
  • Assist with shipping when needed
  • Perform maintenance and other duties as required


Qualifications & Skills

  • Identify and possess basic understanding of metal raw materials
  • Inventory control skills involving raw materials and tooling
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of saw-cutting operations
  • Knowledge of packaging and shipping methods
  • Fork-life certification preferred
  • Laser engraving experience a plus
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Basic computer skills


Physical Demands and Work Conditions

Moving, carrying, lifting objects more than 50 pounds; standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, visual acuity. Standing for long periods of time.
