    Winsert is seeking skilled machinists to join our team in South Bend, IN! 
     
    Pay: $27 - $30 per hour

    General Summary:
    Proficiently and safely set up and operate multi-axis machining equipment using a variety of measuring/inspection equipment to produce parts within production standards.
     
    Essential Job Functions:
    • Perform setups and operate a variety of machinery including but not limited to: 4-axis, 5-axis, turning, mill/turn, 2-axis lathe equipment, grinding equipment, and/or Swiss machines.
    • Change tool settings to keep product dimensions within specified tolerances and meet expected cycle times.
    • Inspect product to verify conformance within required specifications, using a variety of measurement and inspection equipment.
    • Troubleshoot equipment for process/maintenance issues, collaborate with Maintenance and Engineering when necessary.
    • Perform limited data collection requirements, such as SPC or daily production information.
    • Perform prototype or sample work as needed.
    • Train new machine shop personnel as needed.
    • Participate in daily huddles and production related meetings.
    • Performs routine maintenance tasks as required.
     
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Knowledge and experience with: 4-axis, 5-axis, 2-axis turning, mill/turn, lathe equipment, grinding equipment, and/or Swiss machines.
    • Excellent time management, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Ability to use computer skills for ERP reporting and data entry.
    • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude.
    • Understanding of basic mathematics.
    • Competent in both English and metric measurement scales.
    • Ability to read, understand and edit G-code for CNC programs.
    • Proficient in adjusting machining programs.
    • Consistency, professionalism, and personal accountability are important attributes for this position.  
     
    Physical Demands:
    • Must be able to actively move through production space to work with staff.
    • Vision must be correctable to allow reading/viewing of documents and computer screen.
    • Hearing must be correctable to allow understanding of instructions and communication with others.
    • Mobility and coordination must allow for required tasks to be completed.
     
    Education and Experience:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Minimum 3-5 years experience in setting up and operating machine tools.
    • Hands-on experience with CAD (SolidWorks) and CAM (Esprit) preferred.
    • Familiarity with conversational Mazak programming, Integrex lathe, Fanuc controllers preferred.
    • Technical training preferred.
