MACHINE OPERATORS / BAND SAW OPERATORS
Locations: Santa Fe Springs & Montebello, CA
Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour (DOE)
Full-Time | Monday - Friday
Available Shifts
1st Shift
- 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
2nd Shift
- 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Job Summary
We are seeking skilled and reliable Machine Operators / Band Saw Operators to join our growing machine shop team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately cutting metal stock and raw materials using band saw equipment while supporting machining and fabrication operations. The ideal candidate has experience working in a manufacturing environment, understands blueprint reading, and is committed to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate horizontal and vertical band saws to cut steel, aluminum, and other metal alloys
- Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, cut lists, and mechanical drawings
- Measure and mark materials using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
- Select appropriate blades based on material type and thickness
- Adjust feed rates, blade tension, and cutting angles to ensure quality cuts
- Perform routine machine maintenance including blade changes, lubrication, and cleaning
- Inspect finished materials to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality standards
- Identify and report equipment issues, material defects, or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the facility
Qualifications
- Previous machine operating or band saw experience preferred
- Ability to read measuring tools and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to lift, move, and handle metal materials safely
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Manufacturing or machine shop experience is a plus
