Why do we need you ?

Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramics & Refractories in Worcester, MA is currently hiring a Machine Operator (Hydraulic Molder) to work in our Bonded area. The operator will be responsible for applying a limited variety of methods, procedures and techniques to mold products using hydraulic and molding equipment to compact mix to shape products (i.e. wheels, batts, plates, saggers, rings or bricks) utilizing shop orders and blueprints.

Pay Details: $24.91 + Shift Differential

Shift details: 2nd Shift 1:30 PM- 10:00 PM

Essential Functions:

• Adjusts hydraulic press settings to applicable height, weights, and length measurements listed on work orders/ blueprints
• Completes density tests on products and reviews the well-defined shop orders and blueprints assigned by the supervisor
• Weighs out grain, pours grain/mix into mold, uses a level or pin rake to spread mix and presses to mold the piece
• Utilizes wide variety of measuring tools, hand and power tools including a tamping gun to properly mold product
• Other related duties assigned

Is this job for you ?

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent experience.
• General manufacturing skills such as blueprint reading, intermediate math skills (measure in standard and metrics using various measuring devices such as calipers, measuring tapes, micrometers, measuring tools) and basic computers skills are required.
• This position requires up to 3 months' work experience to become proficient in most phases of the job to work independently.

• May be required to repetitively lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and smell.

Mental & Visual Demands

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job within the manufacturing environment, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to heat, fumes or airborne dust.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Various PPE devices & equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, respirators, dust masks, hard hats, respirators, hearing protection, and glasses may be required.

Benefits in joining us

Certain locations require pay information to be provided in job postings. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the local pay range for this position, which is $21.00 to $35.00 per hour. This hourly pay rate offered can vary depending on location, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 10% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures. The total annual target cash range (Hourly Pay Rate plus Bonus, annualized (40 hrs/week * 52wks)) for this position is $51,400.00-TTC to $83,500.00-TTC. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and, by nature, can vary based on company and individual performance and are not a guarantee.

Additional Pay Incentives for This Role Include:

• Standard Overtime (Hourly Rate * 1.5)
• Shift premium a $1.50/hour
