    Description

    DEM Elevating Equipment is looking for a dedicated Machine Operator to join our production team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with machinery, ensuring precision in manufacturing, and contributing to high-quality production. Whether you have experience or are looking to train in this field, we encourage you to apply!

    Essential Functions:

    • Set up and operate drill press machines to drill, tap, ream, or countersink metal and other materials.
    • Operate hydraulic punch machines to cut, shape, and punch metal parts.
    • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine production requirements.
    • Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and fixtures based on job specifications.
    • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and required tolerances.
    • Use calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools for accuracy checks.
    • Adjust machine settings, including speed and feed rates, for optimal performance.
    • Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting on machines.
    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company standards.
    • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
    • Assist in other areas as needed to support production goals.

    Position Qualifications:

    • Education: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
    • Experience: Previous machining or related experience is preferred; on-the-job training will be provided.
    • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office experience preferred.

    Skills & Abilities

    • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, operation, repair, and maintenance.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
    • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing methods used to maximize efficiency and product quality.
    • Understanding of workplace safety practices and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
    • Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods.
