Machine Operator

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS: · Operate packaging machinery (i.e., turn production lines on and off using the on/off switch, select appropriate program on filler and adjust target fill weight, and ensure that the appropriate fill weight is selected for the appropriate product) per SOP’s and Machine Manuals. · Visually inspect product and packaging for defects (inspect for product contamination, package integrity, package damage, artwork defects, package properly sealed, package date code and correct count of product).

Pay: $20.00 per hour
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Perform duties on the production line as directed by supervisor and/or lead production worker and in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS:
· Operate packaging machinery (i.e., turn production lines on and off using the on/off switch, select appropriate program on filler and adjust target fill weight, and ensure that the appropriate fill weight is selected for the appropriate product) per SOP’s and Machine Manuals.
· Visually inspect product and packaging for defects (inspect for product contamination, package integrity, package damage, artwork defects, package properly sealed, package date code and correct count of product).
· Immediately report defects to supervisor or Lead Production Worker.
· Remove defective product from line.
· Interact with team members, quality assurance and maintenance to maximize output and efficiency.
· Place packaging materials (i.e. bottles, jars, tottles, etc.) on line by hand.
· Place caps in hopper for capper.
· Clean packaging area and equipment as directed (i.e., Sweep, mop, wash/scrub the line down with cleaning and sanitizing agents, wipe down line with 50% solution of alcohol and water).
· Work in a safe manner at all times, complying with safety, health, environmental, food and drug regulations and company policies.
· Use company approved personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
· Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work.
· All other duties as assigned.
MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist material handlers as needed or directed.
Assist Production Supervisor/Lead as needed or directed.
