Job Overview:

Starting at $23.95 per hour, the Machine Operator 2 sets up and operates machining equipment to manufacture parts that support the assembly and testing of rotary positive blowers and gas pumps. This role maintains required tolerances, completes in-process inspections, documents production activity, and safely moves materials and tooling. Collective Bargaining Agreement language applies to this position.

Responsibilities:

• Review manufacturing paperwork and work instructions for machining requirements; notify the supervisor of concerns related to material quality, piece counts, tooling, or operations.
• Set up and operate one or more machines simultaneously to manufacture a variety of parts in support of production schedules.
• Complete required machine, tooling, calibration, and adjustment changes to maintain design tolerances.
• Perform and document visual and instrument inspections using the appropriate gauges and tools to verify tolerances and quality requirements.
• Complete in-process quality checks and accurately maintain all associated quality and production documentation.
• Accurately report labor transactions and material counts manually or electronically.
• Safely operate overhead cranes, hoists, and handcarts; select appropriate rigging to transport or position parts, tooling, fixtures, supplies, and units.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow all plant rules and safe work practices, including returning tools and equipment to storage and disposing of waste properly.

Requirements:

• Ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks, and support production needs effectively.
• Willingness and ability to work any shift, including holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Moderate computer literacy and the ability to accurately enter labor and production information.

• Safety awareness and consistent adherence to plant procedures.
• Mechanical aptitude with strong attention to quality and detail.
• Ability to follow manufacturing paperwork, machining directions, and inspection requirements.
• Dependability, accountability, and effective communication with supervisors and team members.

Preferences:

• Prior machine operation, machining, or manufacturing experience.
• Experience using inspection gauges, measuring tools, overhead cranes, hoists, or rigging equipment.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements

• This is a fully onsite, union position based in Connersville, Indiana. No regular travel is anticipated.
