Machine Operator III

Position Summary: Machine Operator III

  • Works in a machine shop environment supporting production of aerospace industry parts.
  • Sets up and operates CNC lathe and mill machinery.
  • Supports manufacturing processes that convert raw materials into precision semi-finished goods.
  • Requires a team-oriented individual.

Responsibilities Machine Operator III

  • Operate CNC lathes (primarily).
  • Provide backup operation of CNC mills and other manual equipment.
  • Set up and run machines across a variety of operations and multiple machines.
  • Convert raw materials to precision semi-finished goods within print tolerance specifications.
  • Make offset adjustments to maintain engineering specifications.
  • Obtain Certified Operator certification through on-the-job training and testing.
  • Maintain measuring instruments in proper condition.
  • Maintain proper cutting conditions on machining centers.
  • Meet or exceed required output hours.
  • Use fixtures and gauges to perform dimensional checks.
  • Communicate with co-workers and supervisors to coordinate activities.
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Be available for overtime as necessary.

Required Qualifications Machine Operator III

  • Ability to operate single turret or twin spindle CNC lathe machines with live tooling capabilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Ability to understand basic work instructions for product fabrication.
  • General knowledge and experience with hand and power tools, including rotary tooling, sanding devices, manual deburring tools, and wrenches.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Basic PC skills for data entry, timecard entry, and production time entry.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment, including micrometers, calipers, and electronic height gauges.
  • Intermediate shop math skills.
  • Must meet U.S. Person citizenship requirement.
  • Shift: 2nd Shift.
