Job Summary:
- The Machine Operator Assistant supports the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment by assisting machine operators with machine setup, material handling, quality inspections, and housekeeping.
- This position plays an important role in maintaining production schedules while ensuring product quality and workplace safety.
Responsibilities: - Assist the machine operator with machine setup, changeovers, and production runs.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products.
- Monitor product quality and report defects or equipment issues to the operator.
- Perform basic quality inspections using measuring devices and visual inspection.
- Remove scrap and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Package, label, stack, and prepare finished products for shipment.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
- Support preventative maintenance activities as directed.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
- Work with team members to meet production goals and minimize downtime.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: - Manufacturing or machine operating experience preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to read work orders and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Skills- Manufacturing or corrugated packaging experience.
- Forklift experience (or willingness to become certified).
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good attendance and reliability.
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude.
Education:- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Push, pull, bend, twist, and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to work around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
- Willingness to work overtime and various shifts as needed.
