Machine Operator – 1st Shift

Location: Archdale, NC 27263
Pay Rate: $17.00–$18.00/hr, paid weekly
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
Overtime: Fridays as needed

Overview

The Machine Operator supports metal fabrication operations by setting up and operating waterjet, CNC laser cutting, press, saw, sanding, and milling equipment. This role requires experience reading blueprints, working with CNC programming, using precision measuring tools, and inspecting finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate waterjet and CNC laser cutting machines, including Salvagnini equipment.
• Use waterjet software to create or modify 2D CAD/CAM drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, BOMs, and quality instructions.
• Select materials according to BOM and drawing specifications.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including Bridgeport milling machines, brake presses, drill presses, band saws, and horizontal saws.
• Use precision measuring instruments, hand tools, pneumatic tools, and electric tools.
• Read, write, and edit CNC programming code.
• Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and quality requirements.
• Perform quality audits and verify completed parts meet specifications.
• Maintain safe and efficient machine operation throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Previous metal fabrication or machine operator experience required.
• Experience operating CNC or waterjet equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Basic CNC programming knowledge.
• Strong math and geometry skills for machine setup and drawing interpretation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to use precision measuring tools.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs. without assistance.
• Strong attendance and performance record.
• Ability to wear company-provided uniforms.
