    Description

    We are currently seeking a full-time, highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at our Elgin, IL facility. ProAmpac is a leading global flexible packaging company with comprehensive product offerings.     Shift: 1st Shift
    Hourly Pay Range: $35 - $42/hr (pending experience)

    Essential Duties and Tasks:

    • PM equipment as required and ensure all documentation is completed accurately.
    • Communicate effectively with the Maintenance Lead and Maintenance Manager regarding any issues.
    • Quickly respond to operational or technical issues to ensure maximum productivity.
    • Troubleshoot, and repair equipment breakdowns involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
    • Optimize machine output and increase quality of preventative maintenance.
    • Tear down equipment and rebuild, replace, or repair defective components: motors, gear boxes, clutches, bearings, and electrical systems.
    • PM on production equipment and facility. IE: pumps, chillers, carpentry, painting, drywall, compressors, and main power systems.
    • Fabricate/design machine parts as required.
    • Perform PLC and other low voltage control changes and make diagnostic checks on production machines.
    • Install and repair high voltage and low voltage circuits for production lines and facility.
    • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

    Skills and Abilities

    • Minimum 10 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
    • Proficient with PLC's, Drives and Schematics.
    • Proficient with test instruments.
    • Good mechanical and electrical aptitude
    • Skilled in usage of all common hand and power tools.
    • Proficiency in basic mechanical maintenance and repair procedures.
    • Good communication skills in the English language (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
