    Overview

    Help manufacturers control hazardous energy by assessing equipment and producing clear, compliant lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures. You’ll be the on-site expert who turns complex systems into safe, reliable isolation steps.

    Home base: Clinton, MI within Steptron- a division of Rockford Systems LLC. Position is open to remote locations. Expect extensive travel to customer facilities.

    Key outcomes

    • Machine-specific LOTO road-maps that meet OSHA 1910.147 and client standards.
    • Verified documentation with photos, diagrams, and precise isolation steps.
    • Field implementation of tags and procedures that operators can trust.

    Core responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive on-site surveys of machinery, equipment, and energy sources.
    • Locate all isolation points across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, thermal, and other systems.
    • Translate findings into practical, step-by-step LOTO procedures using creation tools.
    • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations to validate safe, workable methods.
    • Confirm feasibility and accuracy; remediate gaps before deployment.
    • Install LOTO tags and documentation at the customer site.
    • Maintain rigorous attention to safety, accuracy, and efficiency at all times.

    Qualifications

    • Solid grasp of industrial machinery operation and hazardous energy control.
    • Experience in safety audits, risk assessments, or EH&S compliance programs.
    • Working knowledge of OSHA 1910.147 or comparable standards.
    • Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, mechanical diagrams, and OEM manuals.
    • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
    • Comfortable in industrial settings; able to travel extensively.
    • Detail-oriented with a strong safety mindset and customer-facing communication skills.
    • Strong interest in travel.

    Technical proficiencies

    • Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills
    • OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)

    Work environment & travel

    • Frequent travel to manufacturing plants and facilities to perform on-site work.
    • Hands-on presence in production areas while following all facility safety requirements.
