    Position: Part-Time Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist (W2 Employee)

    Location: Sparks, Nevada

    Schedule: Part-Time (Flexible; approximately 15-20 hours per week)

    Position Summary

    We are seeking a reliable and skilled Full-Time (32-40 hrs/week) Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate must hold the required Nevada phlebotomy certification, be experienced in basic clinical duties, and be able to assist with administrative tasks as needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works well independently, and thrives in a small clinic environment.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    Clinical Duties:

    • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws (Nevada-approved phlebotomy certification required)

    • Measure and record vital signs

    • Assist providers with exams and procedures

    • Prepare exam rooms and maintain clinical cleanliness

    • Administer injections (if certified and permitted by Nevada regulations)

    • Process lab specimens and ensure accurate documentation

    • Maintain PAR levels for lab supplies

     

    Administrative Duties:

    • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist with patient check-in/check-out

    • Verify insurance and collect necessary documentation

    • Maintain medical records and update patient charts

    • Assist with supply inventory and general front-office tasks

     

    Required Qualifications

    • Nevada-approved phlebotomy certification (Laboratory Assistant, Office Laboratory Assistant, or Point-of-Care Technician license)

    • Prior experience as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, or similar clinical role

    • Basic knowledge of electronic health records (EHR)

    • Strong communication and customer service skills

    • Ability to multitask efficiently in a clinical environment

     

    Preferred Qualifications

    • MA certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA)

    • Experience in a primary care or outpatient clinic setting

    • Familiarity with Athenahealth is a plus

     

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Competitive hourly rate based on experience

    Compensation: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
