Position Title: M&A Integration Controllership Manager

Location: McLean, VA

Pay Rate: $150,000.00

Position Description:

Join a dynamic team as an M&A Integration Controllership Manager, leading financial integration and divestiture projects across the organization. You will partner with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless execution of key milestones, operationalize controllership priorities, and support strategic M&A initiatives. This role combines strategic project management with hands-on accounting expertise, ideal for a detail-oriented leader looking to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced environment. Due to the nature of work, U.S. citizenship is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead M&A integration and divestiture initiatives as the primary contact for the Controllership team.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans aligning with business goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Monitor key milestones, deliverables, and dependencies; communicate progress, risks, and issues to senior leadership.
  • Maintain and update the M&A playbook, incorporating lessons learned and best practices.
  • Provide expert financial support, including process mapping, system consolidations, and balance sheet reviews.
  • Conduct compliance analyses related to regulatory, accounting, and internal controls; identify gaps for remediation.
  • Assist with financial reporting, Purchase Price Allocations (PPA), journal entries, and other transaction-specific accounting details.
  • Act as liaison between Controllership and cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless communication during M&A activities.
  • Identify and address process, system, and control gaps for post-close integration or pre-close divestiture preparations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven success leading M&A integration and divestiture projects within a controllership environment.
  • Strong project management skills with experience developing cross-functional plans.
  • Hands-on accounting expertise, including financial process mapping and balance sheet analysis.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial system implementations or integrations.
  • Preferred: Big Four accounting experience in transaction advisory or M&A practice.
  • Knowledge of Costpoint or NetSuite is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced degree, CPA license, and change management experience are desirable.
