    LVN - Local Contract in Big Spring, Texas - 26.0 weeks

    • Graduate of an accredited Practical/Vocational Nursing (LVN/LPN) program.

    Certifications Requirements:

    • Current Texas LVN license in good standing (license verification required).
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or equivalent).

    Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum 1 year of LVN experience (2+ years strongly preferred).
    • Behavioral health/psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
    • Corrections or mental health setting experience preferred.

    Other Requirements:

    • Ability to work rotating shifts (days/evenings/nights) and every other weekend as scheduled.
    • Strong therapeutic communication, de-escalation, and conflict-resolution skills in high-acuity environments.
    • Ability to complete orientation Monday–Friday, 8a–5p for 2–4 weeks and participate in 2–3 weeks of on-unit mentorship.

Job Responsibilities

    • Provide direct patient care and nursing interventions within a psychiatric/behavioral health setting under the supervision of an RN and/or provider.
    • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to support individualized care plans, milieu safety, and therapeutic programming.
    • Maintain a safe environment by monitoring patient behavior, identifying escalating situations, and executing approved de-escalation interventions per facility policy.
    • Document assessments, medication administration, patient responses, and significant events accurately and promptly in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
    • Execute shift-based clinical workflows across rotating schedules (6a–2p, 2p–10p, 10p–6a), including every other weekend coverage, while ensuring continuity of care during handoffs.
