    Medical Oncology Physician


    Assignment Details

    • Location: New Ulm, Minnesota

    • Provider Type: Physician

    • Specialty: Medical Oncology / Hematology

    • Start Date: Targeting November 9, 2026, or as soon as credentialed

    • Contract Length: 6 months with option to extend

    • Positions Available: 2

    • Coverage Type: Scheduled, No Call

    • Practice Setting: Outpatient Oncology and Infusion Clinic

    • Full-time coverage highly preferred

    • Preference for one consistent onsite provider throughout the assignment

    • May consider splitting coverage between two locum physicians

    • Some telehealth coverage may be considered

    • December availability is highly preferred and should be included at submission


    Compensation: $475/hr


    Schedule

    • Monday-Friday

    • 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

    • No call

    • Full-time availability highly preferred

    • 4-hour orientation

    • December availability should be clearly provided with submission


    Patient Population / Volume

    • Approximately 13-20 patients per day

    • Broad outpatient Medical Oncology and Hematology population

    • Solid tumor malignancies

    • Hematologic conditions requiring active management

    • Active treatment, surveillance, and follow-up patients


    Clinical Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive outpatient Medical Oncology and Hematology care

    • Perform new patient consultations and diagnostic evaluations

    • Develop treatment plans

    • Oversee chemotherapy and other oncology treatments

    • Provide ongoing disease management and follow-up

    • Review laboratory results, imaging, and patient status

    • Approve treatments and coordinate with the infusion team

    • Address abnormal laboratory findings and urgent patient needs

    • Coordinate multidisciplinary cancer care

    • Complete documentation within 24 hours

    • No radiation oncology services performed directly

    • 5 clinic exam rooms

    • 9 infusion chairs

    • 2 private infusion treatment rooms

    • 2 fast-track triage rooms

    • Outpatient-focused practice with an integrated clinic and infusion model


    Support Staff

    • LPN support

    • RN support

    • APP support being added

    • Oncology Nurse Navigator

    • Oncology clinic RNs and LPNs

    • Infusion nursing team

    • Oncology Research Nurse

    • Dedicated Oncology Social Worker

    • Dietitian

    • Mental health support

    • Financial navigation

    • Oncology Provider Coordinator

    • Oncology/Infusion Department Nurse Manager

    • Centralized prior authorization support

    • Collaboration with surgeons, radiologists, and pathologists

    • Radiation Oncology partnership available

    • Multidisciplinary oncology support through a larger integrated cancer network


    Requirements

    • Minnesota medical license or IMLC required for quick start

    • Candidates requiring licensure may be considered

    • Must be comfortable providing full-spectrum Medical Oncology and Hematology care

    • Must be comfortable managing chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive oncology treatments

    • Must be able to complete documentation within 24 hours

    • Onsite availability strongly preferred

    • Full-time availability strongly preferred

    • December availability highly preferred


    Credentialing

    • Standard credentialing timeframe: approximately 90-120 days

    • Emergency privileges may potentially be available for an earlier start

    • Target start date is November 9, 2026
