    ROLE OVERVIEW:

    As a Lube Technician you are responsible to safely keep equipment running and maintained properly to maximize production and quality.

    Schedule varies throughout the seasons. During the production season, start and end times will vary based on field operations. Mid- to late-morning starts and evening work during the week should be expected. 

    DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

    1. Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained. Perform repairs on equipment during slow times
    2. Safely and properly perform routine maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on heavy equipment
    3. Dismantles equipment such as grease guns, air lines and lubricating pumps. Examines parts for breaks, wear, and dirt. Replaces defective parts and cleans and assembles equipment
    4. Recognition of surroundings including equipment and traffic awareness
    5. Ability to perform consistently while doing repetitious work
    6. Exposure to working conditions with various insects
    7. Extensive walking on uneven surfaces
    8. Operating equipment at night under artificial lighting
    9. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations
    10. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others
    11. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors
    12. Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance
    13. Performs other duties as assigned

    COMPENSATION:

    $25.00 - $33.00/hour

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)

    As a successful Lubrication Technician/Mechanic, you will have:

    1. High School or GED plus higher trade or technical school or equivalent in related field
    2. Mechanical experience - diesel engine preferred
    3. Must be able to travel over nights during season, weekends and long shifts as needed
    4. Must have a valid Class B Driver’s License, ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record 

    *Candidates without a Class B Driver’s License may be considered, provided they are able to obtain one. Assistance with licensing is available through Knife River.
