LICENSED PHARMACIST – LTC SPECIALTY PHARMACY

Location: Hanover, PA 18706
Pay: $65+ per hour
Schedule: Full-Time

JOB SUMMARY

A closed-door Long-Term Care (LTC) specialty pharmacy in Hanover, PA is seeking a Licensed Pharmacist. This position is responsible for dispensing medications, reviewing prescriptions, counseling patients, monitoring medication use, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with healthcare providers.

SCHEDULE OPTIONS

• Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM + every 3rd weekend, Saturday & Sunday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–7:30 PM + every 3rd weekend, Saturday & Sunday 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurately dispense prescription medications
• Review prescriptions to ensure medications are appropriate and compliant with applicable regulations
• Monitor patient medication compliance and medication overuse
• Counsel patients regarding medications, dosage, side effects, storage, and drug interactions
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
• Provide medication consultation and patient education
• Provide services including smoking cessation, blood pressure monitoring, and cholesterol management
• Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
• Compound medications for internal and external use
• Prepare sterile solutions following proper procedures
• Supervise pharmacy technicians, clerks, and other pharmacy staff
• Maintain appropriate inventory of medications and medical supplies
• Identify medication-related problems and communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, pharmacy interns, and other members of the healthcare team

REQUIREMENTS

• Active Pennsylvania Pharmacist license
• PharmD or equivalent pharmacy degree
• Ability to work the assigned schedule, including every 3rd weekend
• LTC, specialty pharmacy, closed-door pharmacy, or similar pharmacy experience preferred
