PER DIEM LPN/RN – MEDICATION DISPENSING NURSE

We are seeking dependable and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Registered Nurses (RNs) for per diem medication-dispensing opportunities in a structured outpatient clinical setting.

This position is ideal for nurses seeking flexible supplemental work in a controlled environment with minimal direct patient contact and limited physical demands.

SHIFT DETAILS

• Shift Hours: 5:30 AM – 1:30 PM

• Secure, structured clinical environment

• Ability to sit or stand while performing medication-dispensing duties

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely dispense methadone and other prescribed controlled medications in accordance with provider orders, facility protocols, and applicable regulations.

• Accurately document medication administration and maintain appropriate medication records.

• Perform medication dispensing from a secure nursing station behind a protective glass barrier, with no routine direct physical contact with patients during dispensing.

• Administer TB tests and injections as needed; these duties occur less frequently than medication dispensing.

• Perform blood draws when needed. Phlebotomy experience is preferred but not required, as on-site nursing staff may assist when necessary.

• Follow established medication safety, infection-control, confidentiality, and clinical procedures.

• Communicate effectively with the clinical team regarding patient care and medication-related concerns.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Primary responsibility is medication dispensing

• Minimal direct patient contact

• Secure nursing station

• Option to sit or stand during medication dispensing

• Limited physical demands compared with many traditional bedside nursing positions

• Support from regular on-site nursing staff

   

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current and unrestricted LPN or RN license

• Strong medication administration and safety skills

• Excellent attention to detail

• Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation

• Dependable, professional, and comfortable working independently within established clinical protocols

• Experience with medication administration and controlled substances preferred

• Phlebotomy experience is a plus but not required
