    Job Purpose:

    • The LPN position is integral to the efficient functioning of their assigned Unit. They will, by virtue of their role, be responsible for providing client care and improving nursing service in an organized nursing unit. Will assist consumers in increasing interaction skills, in improving level of functioning and in gaining insight into their illness; this includes establishing a meaningful relationship with all consumers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established protocols and guidelines.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians and document all care provided in patient records.
    • Monitor and assess patient health status, reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team promptly.
    • Ability to successfully complete initial and annual Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) physical restraint training and verbal de-escalation training.
    • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medications, and self-care strategies to promote recovery and well-being.
    • Will have knowledge of the Baker Act
    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to stay current with best practices in behavioral health nursing.
    • Support the implementation of quality improvement initiatives within the unit to enhance patient outcomes and service delivery.
