LPN Medical-Surgical - Contract

License: Active New York single-state LPN license required; pending licenses not accepted. Facility: Rochester General Hospital, Rochester, NY — 528-bed acute care teaching hospital.

Location: 1425 Portland Ave Bldg 3 Rochester, NY 14621
Schedule:  Floating Shift 4*12s 48hours/week

• Shift: 7 PM–7 AM; alternate 7 AM–7 PM

• Contract: 13 weeks

• Experience: Acute Care experience within the last 2 years; must manage own patient assignment with RN support

• License: Active New York single-state LPN license required; pending licenses not accepted

• Certification: BLS

• Charting: Epic experience required

• Weekend: Every other weekend (EOW)

• Holidays: Every other holiday, if needed

• Call: Not specified

• RTO/Block: Submit requests at the time of submission

• Cancellation Policy: Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week contract without charges

• Locals: Accepted at $10 less

• Ratios: Days 1:5–6

• Floating: Required within skill set

• Scrubs: Any combination of navy blue and white

Required Clinical Skills:

• Vital signs, pain assessment, I&O, isolation precautions and restraints

• Oxygen administration, feeding tube management, telemetry and 12-lead EKG

• Medication administration (oral, IM, SQ, NG/G-tube, ear and eye drops)

• IV therapy with pumps and blood glucose monitoring

• Basic wound care, JP/Hemovac drains, Foley insertion and clean-catch urine collection

• Specimen labeling, bathing, mouth care and reporting patient status changes to RN/MD

Patient Population: COPD exacerbation, infections, failure to thrive and social issues.
