ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide optimal, direct patient care and demonstrate sound decision-making skills.
- Communicate patient care needs to all members of the health care team.
- Contribute effectively to promote timely and efficient patent admission, transfer and discharge including providing appropriate patient education.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the primary care provider.
- Documents patient status in an accurate, pertinent and concise manner.
- Assist with updating care plans.
- Delegate or assign aspects of patient care to health care team members (non-licensed) commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task.

- Knowledge and competency in performing baseline nursing skills.
AGE-RELATED COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify age-specific patient needs appropriate for this position.

Risk Management/Quality Management/Safety: Cooperates fully in all Risk Management, Quality Management, and Safety Activities and Investigations.
MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education - Graduate of an accredited trade or vocational school of nursing.
- Work Experience - One year relevant experience, new graduates accepted based upon position availability.
- Training - N/A
- License/Certification - Current New Mexico Nurse License and BLS certification required.
ENVIROMENTAL CONDITIONS: Work environment consists of daily patient contact, which may include exposure to blood, or other body fluids.
