Purpose Statement: The substitute will work in the capacity for which they are hired. As a First Steps Substitute Caregiver, the individual will teach, train, lead, guide, and follow the lesson plans to properly supervise children in their care. As a First Steps Substitute, the individual will follow the substitute plan and fulfill all the tasks to which they are assigned. These could be clerical tasks, supervision tasks, and class coverage tasks as needed. As a substitute, the individual must take ownership of the assigned role so that children are always well supervised and cared for. Scope: The position is multifaceted in that the individual takes on the tasks of another staff member who is absent.
