Low Voltage Security Technician – Job Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Low Voltage Security Technician to install, service, and maintain a variety of electronic security systems. This role involves working in commercial environments and supporting system performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and service low voltage systems including:
  • Access control
  • CCTV / video surveillance
  • Intrusion detection / alarm systems
• Run, terminate, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, etc.)
• Mount and configure devices such as cameras, readers, panels, and sensors
• Troubleshoot system issues and perform repairs as needed
• Read and interpret basic drawings, blueprints, and wiring diagrams
• Ensure installations meet quality and safety standards
• Provide basic training or support to end users when needed

Qualifications

• Experience working with low voltage or security systems preferred
• Basic knowledge of wiring, networking, and electronic systems
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience with systems such as Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Honeywell, etc.
• Industry certifications (NICET, ESA, manufacturer certs)
• Experience in commercial construction or service environments
