That’s the rhythm of our Low-Voltage Fire Alarm Installation & Service Technician.
How You’ll Contribute
- Own the installation and service of electrical fire alarm systems to minimize downtime and maximize performance.
- Read and apply blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and schematics with confidence.
- Lead and verify installation quality to meet customer specifications.
- Execute complete system builds: technical review, cable installation, device mounting, wiring of devices and control panels, programming, and testing.
- Use hand and power tools for a wide range of installation activities.
- Keep learning—new products, upgrades, and software tied to fire and security systems.
- Diagnose service needs, troubleshoot quickly, and provide cost-effective solutions to restore functionality.
- Support preventive maintenance to keep systems reliable.
- Record time, service/installation tickets, and inventory accurately and on time.
- Follow company and customer safety programs without exception.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
Who Thrives Here
- Professionals with at least five (5) years in testing, maintenance, and service of fire alarm systems.
- Those who have worked as apprentice electricians or low-voltage technicians and have installed fire alarm, CCTV components, and access control systems.
- Technicians comfortable with basic software, communications technologies, and some lock hardware applications.
- Leaders who can coach installation assistants to perform core tasks proficiently.
- Customer-focused communicators with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Bonus: experience with access control and CCTV.
Credentials & Knowledge
- High school diploma required; NICET certification required.
- Basic English reading/writing skills and solid basic math abilities.
- Ability to read CAD-generated prints, building blueprints, and riser diagrams.
- Strong grasp of basic electronics/electrical theory (formal instruction preferred).
- PC proficiency and an aptitude for simple engineering and construction concepts.
- Preferred: Factory training.
- Knowledge of applicable codes (NICET, NFPA, etc.) and general computer literacy.

- Valid and current driver’s license.
Who You Report To
You will be accountable to the Project Manager, with secondary accountability to other management team members, employees, and customers.
Travel & Work Environment
Some out-of-town travel may be required.
Physical, Mental & Environmental Realities
- Standing, walking, climbing, sitting, and frequent use of hands/fingers.
- Comfort ascending, descending, and working atop ladders of varying heights, including those exceeding 30 feet.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; regular reaching, grasping, and carrying.
- Moderate noise conditions; mostly indoor work with occasional outdoor exposure to seasonal temperatures.
- Ability to safely operate Mobile Work Platforms/Articulating Man Lifts after applicable training/certification.
- Visual acuity to observe and detect obstacles at 30 yards and read written information at close range.
