Low Voltage / Building Automation Specialist

Location: Cleveland, OH
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage / Building Automation Specialist to design, install, program, commission and maintain low-voltage controls and building automation systems for commercial, industrial and data center projects. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technician/engineer with a strong background in low-voltage systems, controls integration and field commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, program, and commission Building Automation Systems (BAS) and low-voltage control systems for HVAC, lighting, power monitoring, and critical facility infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize controllers, PLCs, sensors, HMIs, and networked devices using platforms such as Rockwell Automation, Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and similar systems.
  • Perform system commissioning, functional testing, startup support, and validation of control sequences to ensure reliable operation.
  • Integrate BAS with HVAC, lighting, power monitoring, and other third-party systems to support centralized monitoring and control.
  • Support system design reviews, wiring documentation, and as-built drawings for new construction and retrofit projects.
  • Diagnose and resolve controls, networking, and automation issues while providing preventative maintenance and system improvements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, contractors, engineers, and facility teams to deliver successful installations and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical codes, and client requirements while maintaining accurate project documentation.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience supporting low-voltage systems and Building Automation Systems (BAS) in commercial, industrial, or data center environments.
  • Strong knowledge of low-voltage wiring, controllers, sensors, and field devices.
  • Experience commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintaining BAS and control networks.
  • Experience with Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley PLCs preferred.
  • Familiarity with Siemens, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Automated Logic, or similar BAS platforms.
  • Knowledge of HVAC controls, lighting controls, and power monitoring systems.
  • Understanding of SCADA, industrial controls, and automation principles.
