    LOVING CARE DIRECTOR

    Job Description

    Position Summary

    The Loving Care Director provides strategic and operational leadership for a district-wide program serving students at nine elementary before- and after-school care sites and two preschool locations. The Director is responsible for the administration of all program operations, including personnel management, budgeting, enrollment, curriculum, licensing compliance, family engagement, and continuous program improvement, ensuring consistent, safe, and high-quality services across all locations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Program Leadership & Operations

    • Provide leadership and oversight for all Loving Care before- and after-school and preschool 3s programs.
    • Supervise and administer all aspects of program operations under the direction of the Director of Elementary Education.
    • Ensure consistent implementation of program policies, procedures, and quality standards across all locations.
    • Conduct regular site visits to monitor program quality, safety, licensing compliance, and adherence to district and program expectations.
    • Coordinate and communicate with building principals and district leadership regarding program operations, scheduling, facility use, and proposed program initiatives.
    • Develop long-range goals and recommend program improvements that support district priorities and community needs.

    Personnel Management

    • Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that promotes professionalism and continuous improvement.
    • Recruit, recommend for hire, and support the retention of all Loving Care staff.
    • Serve as the primary evaluator for program Assistant Director, Bookkeeper, and Site Leaders, providing performance coaching and recommending corrective action as needed.
    • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate monthly leadership meetings for Site Leaders.
    • Organize and oversee staff professional development and required trainings.
    • Provide coaching and support to staff to ensure high-quality programming and compliance with all policies.

    Program Development

    • Develop and oversee curriculum and programming for summer camps, school breaks, and other special programs.
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations and enrichment providers to enhance student experiences.
    • Evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements based on enrollment trends, family feedback, and program outcomes.

    Compliance & Licensing

    • Ensure compliance with all state childcare licensing requirements, CCDF regulations, health and safety standards, and district policies.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with state licensing representatives and coordinate licensing visits, inspections, and corrective action plans.
    • Maintain program records and documentation required for state licensing, CCDF compliance, audits, and district reporting.
    • Review and update staff and family handbooks and procedures as needed.
    • Monitor building security procedures and ensure safe environments at all program sites.

    Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

    • Develop and monitor program budgets in collaboration with district administration.
    • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, and distribution of supplies and equipment across all sites.
    • Work collaboratively with program Bookkeeper to monitor enrollment, billing, payments, and financial reporting.
    • Work collaboratively with program Assistant Director to evaluate staffing needs and allocate personnel to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient program operations.
    • Monitor enrollment trends, waiting lists, and program capacity to maximize program accessibility and financial sustainability.

    Communication & Family Engagement

    • Publish and distribute program updates and communications to families and staff via ParentSquare, email, and other communication channels.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with families, school administrators, community partners, and district personnel.
    • Address parent questions and concerns and resolve issues in a timely, professional manner.
    • Promote Loving Care programs through community outreach and enrollment initiatives.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Must be prepared to provide direct operational support or assume site leadership responsibilities when necessary to ensure continuity of services.
