    Job Summary

    Under the direction of the Assistant Beverage Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the direct management of the Canopy Lounge operation, processes, personnel and proper staffing levels. The primary responsibility is to ensure our extraordinary Guest Service Standards are maintained at all times. In joining our team, you commit to supporting this mission by demonstrating our customer service standards at all times and holding all team members to the same. An Associate Degree or higher; or previous work experience from an equal or higher position with very similar job responsibilities and business volumes is required. A minimum of one (1) year of food and beverage supervisory experience in a high-volume operation, or three (3) years of food and beverage related experience (in a relevant function to the position being applied to) in a high-volume operation is required. ServSafe certification required. Must be able to supervise fairly and effectively in a Union environment. Working during weekends, holidays and peak business periods are required, including working any shift/day designated by the Food and Beverage department.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Promote, demonstrate and enforce all customer service standards to ensure all guests enjoy an extraordinary experience.
    • Personally practice all company and departmental service and procedural standards while ensuring all personnel practice the same.
    • Handle all guest concerns and complaints.
    • Communicate to your team on a daily basis all company promotions, tournaments, bus schedules, special events, etc.
    • Accept the responsibilities of this position with the knowledge that all aspects of our collective operations are to be conducted with mutual respect for others essential to preserving and promoting the longevity of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe.
    • Responsible for management of Lounge Hosts and Public Lounge Servers.
    • Maintain a well-groomed, professional appearance.
    • Assist the Assistant Managers to track attendance and leaves, helps to train, coach, evaluate and develop team members by applying established company and departmental policies and procedures in a fair and consistent fashion.
    • Monitor quality and accuracy of beverage preparations in all outlets and ensures that all cost control procedures are followed.
    • Contribute to menu design and development at the request, direction and guidance of the Assistant Beverage Managers/Beverage Manager/Director of Beverage.
    • Stay informed of and communicate information to peers and team members regarding promotions, tournaments, bus schedules, events, shows, photo shoots and other related gaming, food and beverage, marketing and entertainment tools.
    • In an effort to effectively communicate management's objectives, must maintain confidentiality in all management matters, i.e. discussions, meetings, decision making, until such time that the Director of Beverage, the Beverage Manager or Assistant Beverage Managers arrange for appropriate notification to the team.
    • Ensure sanitation compliance in all beverage outlets.
    • Develop knowledge of all legal beverage service guidelines in adherence to CT liquor law and Foxwoods Beverage Policies.
    • Support the requests, directives and delegation of responsibilities from Beverage Management in order to ensure the continual development and ability to understand, apply and enforce company and departmental policies, protocols, expectations as well as terms and conditions of managing team members in a Union environment, more specifically in reference to any legally binding contractual agreement between Foxwoods Beverage Management and the UFCW.
    • Responsible for assisting in meeting profit goals in beverage department, including but not limited to cost of goods, labor and other expenses by closely monitoring inventory, ordering and shift-to-shift staffing levels.
    • Responsible for compliance with all regulatory requirements within area of responsibility including but not limited to Liquor Commission Regulations, TOSHA, Health and Sanitation, the Gaming Commission and UFCW.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within areas of responsibility.
    • TIPS, SMART or company-offered departmental ART Safe Alcohol Service and Safety/Sanitation certifications are required.
    • Must continue to develop a basic understanding of spirits, wine, beer, garnishes, glassware and beverage service, as well as gaming floor, pits and floor combinations.
    • Build and maintain positive relationships with Union representation and its acting agents, other departments, including but not limited to Payroll, BOHC, Security, Gaming, Player Development, Warehouse, Materials Management, Pequot Academy, Human Resources and Engineering.
    • Expected to maintain a visible presence on the floor interaction with the team members and guests during the shift, especially during peak business periods.
    • Must value and demonstrate a consistent commitment to personal integrity, leadership, teamwork, compliance with UFCW contractual agreements and superior guest service delivery as top priorities.
    • Adhere to all HR policies and procedures regarding performance recognition, coaching and discipline.
    • Must possess knowledge of and adhere to all Connecticut, MPTN and MPGE laws, policies and regulations.

    Education and Experience

    • An Associate Degree or higher; or previous work experience from an equal or higher position with very similar job responsibilities and business volumes is required.
    • A minimum of one (1) year of food and beverage supervisory experience in a high-volume operation, or three (3) years of food and beverage related experience (in a relevant function to the position being applied to) in a high-volume operation is required. ServSafe certification required.

    • Must be able to operate company and departmental computers, required programs and equipment with accuracy and appropriate speed.
    • Must possess or develop basic computer skills in Micros, Microsoft Office, Outlook and capacity to master additional computer-based programs, including but not limited to VasTech, TASC and UKG, as required for the efficient scheduling, coaching and progressive discipline of employees, ordering of product/maintenance of pars and other operations of the beverage department.
    • An advanced ability to learn and operate 4Intergale Systems, EZ Bar Systems, Bev Tech Systems, Micros, Megasys, CAMS, Logix, Eatec, Yearly Budgets and Capital FF&E's is strongly preferred.

    Language Skills

    • Must read, write and speak English fluently.

    Mathematical Skills

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.
