The Grade 5 Long Term Substitute Teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals.
The dates of the Long Term Sub Grade 5 Teacher position will be approximately 09/21/26 - 12/23/26
The ideal candidate will:

- Plan and deliver effective instruction
- Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Elementary Teachers, including:
- Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, and and mathematics to students, utilizing the district's course of study and other appropriate learning activities
- Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
- Uses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, and discovery
- Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in
- assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems
- Creates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractive
displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers
- Selects and requisitions books and instructional aids appropriate for grade level
- Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district and state testing program
- Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
- Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal
The Long Term Substitute Teacher Rate is: $250.00 per day for Days 1-20; $307 per day for Days 21+
