Position Overview

Essential Functions

Instructional Leadership & Differentiation

• Best Practices: Demonstrate deep knowledge of instructional best practices across all content areas; familiarity with Balanced Literacy and the Reading/Writing Workshop model is preferred.
• Inclusive Instruction: Differentiate instruction effectively for all students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and English Language Learners (ELLs).
• Data-Driven Growth: Utilize a variety of assessments to target specific student learning needs and inform daily instruction.
• Professional Growth: Maintain a strong desire to grow professionally by participating in district-wide professional development opportunities.

Classroom Culture & Collaboration

• Management: Apply strong classroom management skills to foster a positive, nurturing, and child-centered learning environment.
• Teamwork: Collaborate effectively with grade-level colleagues and specialists, working as a proactive member of a professional learning community.
• Family Partnerships: Demonstrate success in developing and maintaining strong, transparent partnerships with families to support student achievement.

Professional Reliability

• Consistent Attendance: Maintain punctuality and consistent attendance to ensure instructional continuity and the effective supervision and safety of all students.

Job Requirements

• Licensure: Current Massachusetts Elementary Certification (Grades 1-6) or (PreK-2).
• Education: Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.
• SEI Endorsement: Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement required.
• Experience: Three (3) years of classroom teaching experience is preferred.
• Compliance: Successful completion of a Massachusetts CORI and fingerprint-based national criminal background check.
