Position: Long Term Substitute Social WorkerSchool: Silas Deane Middle SchoolReports To: Building PrincipalStart Date: January - June 2027Compensation: $150 - $300 per day worked (certified) Application Date: Posting will remain open until filledEmployer: Kelly Educational Staffing (staffing partner to Wethersfield Public Schools) The chosen candidate will be employed by our temporary staffing partner, Kelly Educational Staffing, and will be assigned to fill this opening. The Social Worker will provide comprehensive school social work services to parents, students and school staff, addressing barriers that limit a student from receiving full benefit from their educational experience. This will include developing individualized treatment plans for students, providing home visits and wellness checks on students, and working with families around attendance issues including but not limited to neglect, anxiety and other mental health issues, school phobia, and social issues including bullying. The Social Worker will also focus on family education and the need to help parents support their child at home, and will connect parents to resources and conduct regular meetings with families.
