    LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE COUNSELOR

    REPORTS TO: Junior-Senior High School Administration

    PAY TYPE: Classified, Non-Supervisory

    PAY RATE: Initial substitute daily pay rate (starting at $145 per day) for the first 15 consecutive days, followed by daily rate based upon the WLCSC Master Teacher Contract

    BENEFITS: Not eligible

    SCHEDULE: Starting 08/17/26; Follows school calendar

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides short-term academic, college/career, and social-emotional counseling services to students in the absence of the regular school counselor
    • Support academic tracking, scheduling inquiries, and student progress monitoring
    • Assist in maintaining student support processes, Section 504 accommodations, and testing logistics as needed
    • Responds to student crises and provide intervention, collaborating with administration, staff, and families as appropriate
    • Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation of student interactions during the coverage period
    • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Administration

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    • Education, Training, and Experience Required:
    • Bachelor's Degree (minimum), Master's Degree in School Counseling preferred
    • Valid Indiana School Counselor License
    • Displays excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
    • Experience working in a school environment preferred
    • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:
    • Ability to utilize student data to design interventions and foster academic achievement
    • Exceptional interpersonal, crisis intervention, and communication skills
    • Jr.-Sr. High School or Secondary experience is preferred

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Position works indoors in a typical school environment that may include school office, classroom, and meeting environments
    • May work near others, often within a few feet
    • May occasionally be exposed to noise levels that are distracting
