    Description

    The Logistics Supervisor supervises, directs and coordinates all material handling functions for the Hattiesburg Engine operations. Responsible for the coordination of the Generator cycle count program and provides in-depth analysis and corrective action for all issues affecting inventory accuracy.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Supervisor responsibility for Operators, Logistics Leads, Group Leads, and/or Cycle Counters in respective Supply Chain area

    • Directly supervises and assigns work to material handling employees on the production floor. Coordinates movement of inbound and outbound material to ensure a smooth flow of material. Administers all company policies and procedures.

    • Trainer at Hattiesburg for all individuals required to operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV). Ensure that all employees operating PIVs possess current and correct licenses.

    • Assigning the physical counting of parts and providing analysis and corrective action for errors as required. Adjust inventory and provide reports to management.

    • Audit bills of material and work with scheduling/engineering to correct errors.

    • Assist with identifying and providing analysis of excess and obsolete material.

    • Provide backup support to purchasing, scheduling and shipping.

    • Frequent contact with other areas of Supply Chain team

    • Frequent contact with Operations, Engineering, and Quality


    Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED

    • Associates degree in related field preferred

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

    • Minimum 2 years of experience in a people leadership role

    • Minimum of 1 year in Supply Chain

    • Must be able to make sound decisions, be a self-starter and able to lead a team in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines

    • Has basic Computer Skills, with the ability to understand/learn new programs
