JOB SUMMARY:
The Senior Analyst, Operations - Europe Shipment Execution is a critical role responsible for managing the end-to-end execution. This position ensures the seamless coordination of transportation, warehousing, ocean carriers, freight forwarders, customs documentation, and customer delivery requirements to support reliable order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Acting as the central point of coordination across external logistics partners and internal stakeholders, the Senior Analyst plays a vital role in ensuring that shipments are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with international trade requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipment Execution & Transportation Management
- Manage the end-to-end execution of export shipments supporting various international markets.
- Coordinate shipment planning, carrier bookings, transportation schedules, and delivery execution to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Monitor shipment progress from origin through final delivery and proactively address transportation exceptions.
- Collaborate with steamship lines, carriers, freight forwarders, warehouses, and customers to ensure efficient shipment flow.
Logistics Coordination & Inventory Alignment
- Ensure inventory availability aligns with shipment schedules and customer demand requirements.
- Coordinate warehouse loading schedules and outbound transportation activities.
- Balance transportation capacity with business needs to minimize delays and service disruptions.
- Support continuous communication between supply chain, customer service, commercial teams, and logistics partners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (CONT):
Documentation & Compliance
- Manage shipping documentation including export paperwork, carrier requirements, bills of lading, customs documentation, and customer-specific requirements.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, export procedures, and customer contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate shipment records and support internal and external audits as required.
Customer Service & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a key operational contact for customers regarding shipment status, delivery performance, and issue resolution.
- Communicate proactively with customers and internal stakeholders regarding potential delays, constraints, or service impacts.
- Support customer satisfaction by ensuring timely fulfillment and effective resolution of transportation challenges.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (CONT):
Performance Monitoring & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report key logistics performance indicators including shipment execution, on-time delivery, transportation costs, demurrage and detention exposure, and customer service metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance service reliability.
- Analyze operational performance and recommend corrective actions to address recurring issues.
- Support process standardization and continuous improvement initiatives across international logistics operations.
Exception Management
- Identify, investigate, and resolve transportation disruptions, booking issues, inventory constraints, customs delays, and carrier performance concerns.
- Escalate and manage critical supply chain risks to minimize customer impact and financial exposure.
- Coordinate recovery plans for delayed shipments and service interruptions.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor of Science, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, Operations Research or Mathematics or related field required master's degree preferred
- Ocean experience highly desirable (understanding of car movements, rail database management, and high-level equipment descriptions)
- 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations.
- APICS CPIM or CSCMP certification preferred
- Strong Excel skills working with large complex data sets, V-Lookup, Pivot Tables
