Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Specialist supports a high-volume warehouse and distribution operation by managing order processing, inventory control, shipping activities, customer communication, and reporting for a major customer account handling 500 to 3,000 orders per day. This role suits a detail-oriented, ambitious professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing administrative and operational tasks. You will work closely with a small team of logistics professionals and receive structured, hands-on training during the first two months to ensureyou are fully prepared for success.

Responsibilities

  • Process and manage high-volume customer orders accurately and efficiently, handling daily order volumes ranging from 500 to 3,000 orders.
  • Perform order entry and maintain up-to-date order status within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities to ensure on-time and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory planning and control to support continuous product availability.
  • Complete daily inventory reconciliation, investigate discrepancies, and help maintain accurate stock records.
  • Create, update, and distribute shipping, inventory, and operational reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and maintain professional, customer-facing email communication.
  • Partner closely with warehouse personnel to verify order accuracy and support a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Support customer returns processing and assist with special projects as needed.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and operational best practices to ensure consistent and compliant operations.
  • Track orders and shipments, ensuring proper documentation and communication with carriers and stakeholders.
  • Use WMS to manage inventory transactions, shipping documentation, receiving, and stock management.
  • Maintain organized records of orders, inventory movements, and logistics activities to support reporting and audits.
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines and service expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience in logistics, warehouse operations, customer service, or supply chain environments.
  • Hands-on experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for order entry, inventory transactions, shipping, and receiving.
  • Practical experience with order entry, shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including basic to intermediate reporting, data entry, and data analysis functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write professional customer-facing emails.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume operational environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, especially when processing large volumes of orders.
  • Customer service mindset with the ability to respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and follow established processes in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse and logistics environment with frequent interaction with warehouse personnel, carriers, and customers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting high-volume order processing environments, such as handling 500 to 3,000 orders per day.
  • Experience working directly with customer accounts in a logistics, warehouse, or supply chain setting.
  • Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse best practices.
  • Familiarity with shipping and receiving operations, including documentation and coordination with carriers.
  • Experience with freight and third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
  • Exposure to ERP systems or other logistics-related software platforms.
  • Basic understanding of sales processes and negotiation within a logistics or distribution context.
  • Strong organizational and time-management habits, including the ability to stay busy and take initiative when work slows down.
  • Motivation to continuously learn, improve processes, and contribute to team success.

Work Environment

This role operates in a fast-paced warehouse and logistics environment that supports one of the organization's largest customer accounts. You will work closely with a team of 3 to 4 logistics professionals and report to a team lead who provides hands-on guidance and support. The workday follows a clear 40-hour schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., in a high-volume, deadline-driven operation where accuracy, efficiency, and a sense of urgency are essential. Daily activities involve a combination of administrative and operational responsibilities, including order management, inventory coordination, customer communication, and reporting. You will use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Microsoft Excel, email, and other logistics tools regularly, and you will frequently interact with warehouse personnel, carriers, and customers. The environment is collaborative, with strong leadership support and an approximately two-month onboarding and training program to help you ramp up successfully. This setting suits individuals who enjoy staying busy, taking initiative, and thriving in a fast-moving, team-oriented workplace.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
