    Description

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Manages freight RFPs, negotiations, and vendor selection processes.
    • Analyzes all aspects of corporate logistics to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of
    transporting products or supplies. Evaluates and makes decisions on optimal transportation modes,
    routing, equipment, and frequency.
    • Assembles service metrics reports for distributors and carriers.
    • Evaluates the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, shipping modes, product
    volumes or mixes, or carriers.
    • Designs models for use in evaluating logistics programs and services.
    • Creates and implements policies and procedures for logistics activities.
    • Consults with key department leaders to support continuity of supply during emergency scenarios.
    • Negotiates transportation rates, terms, and services.
    • Establishes and monitors specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
    • Resolves issues and implements solutions related to transportation, logistics systems, imports, exports,
    and customer concerns.
    • Assesses and monitors product import and export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory and
    legal requirements.
    • Maintains metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, and training and safety records.
    • Implements customer-specific requirements, such as internal reporting and customized transportation
    metrics.
    • Participates in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification, and performance
    evaluation.
    • Ensures carrier compliance with company policies and procedures for product transit and delivery.
    • Communicates freight transportation information to customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders using
    transportation management systems, electronic logistics marketplaces, or freight information systems to
    improve efficiency, speed, and service quality.
    • Develops plans and sets goals to reduce carbon emissions associated with storage and transport activities.

    Education/Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field preferred; equivalent combination of
    education and experience may be considered.
    • In-depth knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including the
    relative costs and benefits of each.
    • Minimum of five years of transportation experience required.
    • Strong analytical, reporting, and computer skills required.
    • Ability to work accurately, manage competing priorities, and respond to business needs in a timely
    manner.
    Language Ability:
    Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary. The successful candidate/employee will be required to use
    written, verbal and group communication skills. The ability to read, write and comprehend complex instructions
    and correspondence is necessary.
    Math Ability:
    This position requires excellent business math skills
    Reasoning Ability:
    The position requires pragmatic analyzing skills, problem-solving abilities and the ability to exercise sound
    judgement.
    Computer Skills:
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience
    with Arrowstream or other inventory, contract management, or spend management software preferred.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
    Physical Demands:
    This position primarily requires working in an office environment and using a computer, telephone, and other
    standard office equipment for extended periods. The position may require prolonged periods of sitting and may
    occasionally require standing, walking, reaching, grasping, handling objects, and lifting up to 20 pounds. Travel
    may be required for up to 30% of the time. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable qualified
