    Description

    Logistics Operations Specialist - Katy Logistics Operations Duties:
    • Schedule and coordinate transportation plans by railcar, truck, barge and vessel.  
    • Monitor and control inventory in the U.S. through transportation arrangements and sales volume forecast.
    • Address and resolve issues related to logistics such as delays, demurrage, contamination, and related matters through internal and external communication with vendors, customers, and suppliers.
    • Maintain good verbal and written communication with vendors to be able to solve any operational issues.
    • Maintain good communication with customers to understand and address their logistics-related needs and problems.
    • Understand the cost structure and liabilities of logistics agreements/contracts regarding terminals, railcars, railroads, trucks, barges, and logistics-related components of the sales and purchase agreements/contracts.
    • Continuously improve logistics costs by optimizing logistics arrangements along with analysis on the divisional profit and loss.
    • Negotiate and finalize logistics agreements/contracts with vendors.
    • Provide advice on logistics-related sections of sales agreements/contracts.
    • Organize meetings and visit vendors with the sales members.  
    • Use meeting time efficiently by preparing discussion topics, questions, and presentations, if necessary, in advance, and follow up on to-do lists after meetings.
    • Occasionally attend meetings held overseas.  

    Logistics Operations Qualifications:
    • Three or more years of logistics experience, preferably in the chemical industry.
    • Rail, Truck, Barge, and Vessel logistics operations experience.
    • Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020.
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or an equivalent field.
    • Solid computer skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • Strong desire to learn and quickly assume the responsibility of the position.   
    • Excellent team skills and positive attitude toward open discussion and information sharing.
    • High aptitude for creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
