Description

Lead, train, and develop the customs department team.
Oversee daily FTZ operations and customs clearance activities.
Maintain CBP and government regulatory compliance, particularly with in-bond shipments.
Coordinate with CBP officers, Port Directors, brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and clients.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry and shipment processing.
Resolve customer concerns and maintain high-quality customer service.
Enforce company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Job Responsibilities

Lead/Manage the customs department with the ability to train, guide, and direct personnel to ensure the work is getting done.
Oversee the daily FTZ operation.
Work with government agency regulators as they apply to the customs clearance process to prevent penalties.
Oversee CBP compliance focused on in bonds.
Conduct employee training & development within the customs department team to achieve excellent employee performance and customer service quality.
Interface with clients, client's service operators, including brokers, forwarders, and carriers.
Interface with CBP, including officers, supervisory inspectors, Port Directors, and ABI.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the operating system by the customs department team.
Ensure timely customs clearance of shipments by the customs department team.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Provide customer service excellence by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications

5+ years of Lead/Supervisor experience.
Fluent bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Excel, Word, and email.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and lead a team toward company goals.

Familiar with CBP forms and processes.
