We are seeking a hands-on Logistics Manager to oversee shipping, transportation, and yard operations for our sign manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for coordinating freight, managing shipping personnel, controlling transportation costs, and ensuring finished signage is delivered safely and on schedule to meet project and installation deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate freight quotes, LTL, truckload, hot shot, and specialized shipments.
- Schedule carriers and drivers to meet project deadlines and installation schedules.
- Supervise shipping office staff and yard personnel.
- Ensure proper packaging, crating, loading, and securement of finished signage.
- Coordinate shipping schedules with Production, Project Management, and Installation teams.
- Manage freight costs, damage claims, and carrier relationships.
- Oversee company truck and trailer readiness and maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with applicable safety standards and DOT requirements.
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of logistics, shipping, or transportation experience.
- Experience handling oversized, fragile, or custom-manufactured products preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Smartsheet, and ERP or project-tracking systems.
- Knowledge of crating, specialized freight, and fleet management is a plus.
